It's been mentioned so many times over the years already that I'm not surprised you didn't bother bringing it up, but having switched from an iPhone 8 after years with iOS to a Pixel 6 this year, I went from neutral on the topic of Lightning vs. USB-C to suddenly very frequently annoyed at I need a proprietary connector for all of... (1) my iPhone that I still need for testing at work; and (2) my Magic Trackpad.

Apple was so bold when they went with their flagship first MacBook with USB-C, and I was really looking forward to seeing them expand that to all their products -- after all, Apple is kind of all about the "Apple ecosystem." And yet, even now in 2022 I can't even connect my iPhone directly to my Mac without buying a USB-C-to-Lightning cable (after all, Apple only includes an old-style USB-to-Lightning cable in the box.
